Experimental Overview

The Wet Lab team is developing novel assays to experimentally determine plastic-degrading enzyme activity with greater speed and precision than existing methods. By designing targeted biochemical workflows, the team converts computational PETase candidates identified by the Dry Lab into experimentally validated hits, providing the empirical backbone of the project's enzyme discovery pipeline.

Experimental Role

Wet Lab work connects prediction to measurement. This page should explain the experimental logic, the assay design, and how candidate enzymes move through validation.

Surface Collection Assay Design

TA2 binds PET film

TA2 displayed on the cell surface binds directly to the PET film.

Antibiotic Selection Assay Design

Copper is fused into PET

Copper is melted into the PET film; the cell carries an un-induced antibiotic resistance plasmid.

GFP Biosensor Assay Design

Copper is fused into PET

Copper is melted into the PET film; the cell carries an un-induced GFP plasmid.
